Design Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Design Lead to join our commercial interior design and build company. As the Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading the design team and overseeing the development and execution of commercial interior design projects. You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver innovative and high-quality designs that meet clients’ objectives and budgetary requirements. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of commercial interior design principles, and a track record of successfully managing design projects.

Responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Develop project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Manage project budgets and track expenses to ensure profitability.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure design concepts are effectively implemented.

Conceptual Design and Development:

• Lead the development of design concepts, space planning, and layout for commercial interior projects.
• Conduct thorough research on industry trends, materials, and finishes to incorporate innovative and sustainable design solutions.
• Create detailed design presentations, including 2D/3D renderings, sketches, and mood boards, to effectively communicate design concepts to clients.

Design Documentation and Coordination:

• Prepare comprehensive construction documents, including detailed drawings, specifications, and material selections.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design intent is effectively communicated and implemented during construction.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material samples, and mock-ups to ensure compliance with design standards and project requirements.

Client Relationship Management:

• Establish strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives.
• Conduct client meetings and presentations to gather feedback and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Provide exceptional customer service, address client concerns, and manage expectations throughout the design process.

Quality Assurance:

• Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure design deliverables meet established standards and specifications.
• Conduct regular design reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
